How to choose the right laying hen cage?

With the large-scale/intensive development of chicken farming, more and more chicken farmers choose laying hens cage farming because cage farming has the following advantages:

(1) Increase the stocking density. The density of three-dimensional chicken cages is more than 3 times higher than that of flat cages, and more than 17 laying hens can be raised per square meter;

(2) Save feed. Chickens are kept in cages, the amount of exercise is reduced, the energy consumption is less, and the waste of material is reduced. The implementation of artificial insemination can reduce the proportion of roosters;

(3) Chickens do not come into contact with feces, which is conducive to epidemic prevention of flocks;

(4) The eggs are relatively clean, which can eliminate eggs outside the nest.

However, many farmers do not know the processing technology of chicken cages. How can they choose chicken cages with good quality and long life? In automatic chicken raising equipment, the choice of chicken cages is more important as direct contact with chickens.Currently, there are 4 types of cages in the market for chicken farmers to choose from:

1. Cold galvanized.

Cold galvanizing, also known as electrogalvanizing, has a thin galvanized layer. The advantages of cold galvanizing are smooth surface and high brightness; however, it is generally used for 2-3 years to rust and has a life of 6-7 years. Cold galvanizing can also be divided into galvanized Color zinc or white zinc, etc., the effect is similar.

2. Hot-dip galvanizing.

Hot-dip galvanizing, also known as hot-dip galvanizing, the thickness of the galvanized layer is generally more than 80μm to be considered qualified, generally not easy to rust, high corrosion resistance, generally can be used for 15 years to 20 years, but the disadvantage is that galvanizing in the galvanizing pool Uneven, resulting in many burrs, which requires manual processing in the later stage. Hot-dip galvanized chicken cages are the first choice for automated farming, but the price is generally higher than others.

3. Spray the chicken coop.

The powder coating is adsorbed to the cage through the attraction of high-voltage static electricity, forming a highly corrosion-resistant phosphating film between the chicken cage and the coating, but the sprayed chicken cage is more likely to stick to chicken manure, and it will not be easy for a long time. It is easy to age and fall off. This kind of chicken cage is relatively rare in the market, and the market is relatively small.

4. Zinc aluminum alloy chicken cage.

Zinc-aluminum alloy wire is used for direct welding, and no further processing is required in the later stage. The welding requirements of this type of chicken cage mesh are relatively high. If the welding is not good, the solder joints will rust. If the process is well mastered, the service life will generally reach more than 10 years. Most of the imported equipment uses this type of mesh.

In terms of durability, hot-dip galvanizing > zinc-aluminum alloy > spraying > cold galvanizing.
